Movement and nutrition matters

Our bodies are built for movement, and every part of it, whether muscles, joints, organs, skin, etc., benefit from movement. It is a fundamental aspect of life. Being active not only strengthens the bones and muscles but also reduces the risk of diseases, helps manage weight, decreases chronic pain, anxiety, and depression, improves sleep and cognitive function, and makes you happier!

To be able to move freely our body needs the right fuel. The food we eat supplies us we the energy we need to grow, repair and move happily, and the nutrients we need that all our body systems work smoothly. But food is much more than just survival, proper functioning or weight management. Food is a source of joy and pleasure, a way to comfort our body, connect with friends, create memories, support our mental and emotional health.

My approach is to determine what is important to you and to support you in reaching your goals with a bespoke plan and ongoing support. I will help you to build a strong, flexible, and resilient body to enable you to do what you love: free, fearless and with joy!

Fran

Hi, I'm Franziska;
a certified Pilates teacher, Soft Tissue Therapist and Nutrition student. I’m based in Cambridge, work at a Physiotherapy and Sport injury clinic, teach at a boutique Pilates Studio and I offer online coaching. I gained my Pilates qualification with APPI and Breathe Education and my Soft Tissue Therapy Diploma with the Cambridge School of Sports Massage. I currently doing my nutrition training with MNU MAC Nutrition Uni. I grew up in Switzerland, lived for a couple of years in the States, and now since over six years in Cambridge.

I am fascinated about the human body and how it moves and functions for as long as I can remember; it is such a big part of who I am. I love to run and try to participate in at least one marathon every year. I enjoy cycling together with my husband, collecting cookbooks and trying out new recipes, I enjoy the outdoors with all its climbing, swimming, paddling, skiing, and I love to play tennis even though I am not as good in it as other fellow countrymen. Pilates has been going along with me for years, assisted me through two pregnancies, helped me recover from all kinds of injuries and supported me (and still does) on my running journey. I absolutely love the way it makes me feel. I want you to find the same joy and satisfaction in movement as I do and discover the amazing things our bodies are able to do. Adding nutrition. to my skill set is like the icing on the cake because to move smoothly the body needs a balanced fuel.
